The work of preserving Peru’s history is a community effort. Through the generosity of our members, volunteers, and supporters, the Peru Historical Society researches local history, preserves important stories and materials, and shares what we discover through publications, educational programs, and community projects. Your support helps ensure that Peru’s history is documented, remembered, and passed on to future generations.
There are several ways you can support our work:
- Make a General Donation – Donations of any amount can be sent via check to the Society’s address shown at the bottom of our web page or presented to the board at a regular meeting. Checks should be made out to “Peru Historical Society.”
- Give through a Donor-Advised Fund – If you have a donor-advised fund, you may recommend a grant to the Peru Historical Society through your fund’s sponsoring organization. Search for us by our legal name: Peru Historical Society or our EIN: 39-2749616.
- Donate historical materials or artifacts – If you have items related to the history of Peru, you can email us and arrange for a time to drop off the donations. Our email is at the bottom of this webpage.
- Volunteer to give a presentation at our regular meeting – If you would like to share some Peru history at one of our regular meetings, please reach out to us at the email shown at the bottom of our website page.
- Volunteer to contribute to Society publications – We are always looking for researchers or writers or editors to help with publications we plan on developing. If you are interested, send us an email letting us know you want to be part of our publication team.
The Peru Historical Society is defined as a non-profit organization under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. No goods or services are provided to the donors in exchange for contributions. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law.
